It's almost like you spent years building it specifically to achieve sub-millimeter clearances everywhere. Clearance is clearance like the machinists say.

60 degrees doen't leave a lot of room, it turns out there's a reason ferrari moved to the 65 degree V....Doh!

You just need to get 4 Daytona mounts and call it solved. Do they bolt in place of the 308 mounts?

$200 each and do not bolt in...just a rubber slug with a stud coming out each end.

I don't know what the 308 mounts look like right of because I don't have any. Do you have pics?

We may be able to find something that will come really close to bolting in.

I'm using four of these on my car:

Have you looked through the Energy Suspension catalog?

You may be able to make something like this work pretty easily:

Here are their transmission mounts:

The *FLANGE* is the engine side, right? Or other way around?

yes, the center bolt goes down and bolts to the chassis cross members, the big round end goes up and there are mounts on the engine that locate on that and 2 little bolts to hold to together.

Here's what's inside....I was pondering just filling it with a 2 part urethane or silicone rubber

It still blows my mind that *THAT* powertrain goes in from the top... but there's no other way to do it in a 308 body.

Fiero powertrains come out the bottom, as do 348s & 355s... Not sure about 360s and later.

I'm *hoping* my Ferrari powertrain will tilt far enough to swing the clutch housing in under the trunk... but I'm also expecting to have to cut the trunk to clear the clutch housing.

Boxer engines come out the top, Testarossa engines come out of the bottom with the sub frame. 512 TRs went back to coming out the top.
3X8 are all top feeders. 288 GTO/F40 is top load. F50, the engine is a chassis member and just bolts to the rear of the tub.
348/355s come out of the bottom. 360/430 out of the top. 458 to present come out of the bottom.
Front engine cars come out of the top until Californias, they are bottom feeders.
Mondials all come out of the bottom.
Dinos are top fed.

That is all I can remember. I have actually had one out of all the ones listed. Dang, I am getting old.

I actually had a client bring in his 308 for a track inspection and he had relocated his engine strut mount lower on the chassis to make it level. However, he had it screwed to the aluminum panel and nothing else. I failed the car. Did I mention he was an engineer? Yeah, I was surprised but he explained that it needed to pull straight on the arm. I just shook my head.
At least you recognize the need for a frame mount, you are an engineer. Plus you work on stuff and get it.

Its been a long time but isn't the arm pretty level stock? I was remembering it was and it looks it in the pic google found me?

On my setup the rear head is in a whole different place. I moved the engine 3" forward and 2" down plus its a 60 deg V not 90 which move the head further forward so instead of the arm landing on the top of the head it land about 5" above the rear corner...very unhelpful.

I'm being told that testarossa mounts should fit the 308 brackets, they are $100 each so that would require preapproval but nearly a bolt-in solution, just make spacers and find long bolts

Cam cover off, rear head retorqued. some of the nuts, particularly the ones on the ends and around cylinder 3 (a leaker) moved well over 1/4 turn, the others were under 1/4, some as low as 1/16th might....almost like the liners I set the fit up nice and snug to the block moved a little deeper once it warmed up. Anyway, this is clearly enough to cause a leak and they were loosest where there were leaks so I'll try to reach the front head then put it back together and see what I have.

I did learn that the intakes are flat impossible to remove with the cam cover raised even 1 mm. I had to tap it back into place then remove the intakes...its a tight fit.
