It was harder to remove than I hoped, separating it tore the plug apart. The green foam had started to dissolve and all the paint and drywall mud was left stuck to the Air tube....but not stuck real well and the pressure washer cleaned it up nice. Busy the rest of the day so tomorrow I'll glass the halves back together

Reassembly went smoothly. I feathered the cut edge a bit and used screws It space for the saw cut then duck tape to hold it in place. Then 1" glass between the tape and let it harder. Then remove the tape, feather everything a bit and 1" glass the remaining gaps and 1.5" glass over that...it still need cleanup and paint but that will wait more stuff is finished.

Just went to the shop to grab some tools and found these parts shaping up, I'm curious to see what he turns this into

BTW - I know you're a very long way away from the stock V8 setup, but I still thought you might find this video interesting - specifically when they run with and without the airbox lid:

EFI converted 308 hits the dyno

Thanks for sharing that. I thought I heard them say it was peaking at 6200 which means they got something else wrong, maybe the trigger issue they later talked about....but the airbox costing 10% issue...yeah.

Did you hear them mention they had a poor MAP signal and it was causing drivability issues?....multiMAP

I'm glad you liked it! Your point about the MAP setup makes a ton of sense, but I hadn't caught it.

BTW - It's funny, I've never been a Ferrari guy and I never will be, but somehow over the last few years I've ended up following 5 different 308 builds:

  1. An EV conversion (aka 0 cylinder).
  2. Stanceworks K24 swap with custom suspension and Liberty Walk body kit (aka 4 cylinder).
  3. The Number 27 and Car Wizard / Tavarish restos (aka 8 cylinders).
  4. Your FrankenFerrari (aka 12 cylinders).

And I've come to love the looks and the sound so much that I find myself half-heartedly "shopping" for one now and then, but I know I'm best off living vicariously through others when it comes to Ferrari ownership and especially modification.

That is what I keep trying to talk Paddy_SP into building but with prettier flares.

Did a little sanding on air filter mount 2 this morning. Son really didn't know how to attack it so I sorted it for him. Hopefully I can find time to help him get it fitted so he can get back to work on the duct.
