Are you painting to tighten up the fit? If I need the piston vise I will let you know. I am good at the moment. |

I put the main caps on and measured the spigot bores this morning. They are not horrible but not ideal with the smallest reading at 3.573, the largest at 3.576, sadly both on the same spigot. 9:30am and the shop is already pretty hot so back to house work while I ponder what I want to try first to get this a bit straighter.

Move the block into the basement for temperature stability? That's not a joke... with the tolerances you're trying to hold, 20 degrees of temperature difference affects the measurement. |

I dunno why I didn't think of this sooner... Line 2 Line does a teflon-based coating that's typically used on Piston skirts and bearings. I believe I've mentioned it on the forum before. There's no reason it couldn't be applied to the outside of the liners... |

Its been a while but I did have line2line coat the pistons to work with my bores that came out larger than I was planning but didn't really think about that for the liner spigots. At this point the parts are all epoxy painted so I'll probably proceed while quietly thinking I should have just started over and made new liners....... Good point on the shop temperature. There is flat no way I can move car parts back into the basement but I will keep an eye on temp and maybe get into the habit of micing the 3" standard everytime before I use the mic to know to be sure I know how things are moving around. |

My hope for mornings in the shop did not materialize...3000lbs of leftover commercial 24x24x7/8 creama marble did along with some what bent 60" linear drain that had straightened and cut into the concrete, a wall mounted sink that came with very specific framing requirements, and a wall mirror that needs a dedicated 20A line...don't ask.....a few more weeks it looks like The drain came out nice though after all the concrete dust settled
