I'll have to get that one and try it. Right now we are going for proper restored function, not looking for super flow, that comes with the VW heads. I will need some research for that one. |

Fancy! I have the same cutter itself....but I removed the swivel drive parts and machined the od so it fits in a collect on the mill so the seat get cut where I say it gets cut...lets me move stuff and seems to chatter less.....in my case the 5mm pilot is about worthless anyway so that could have been the issue too. |

That's pretty snazzy. |

Just used on set of Dino heads. It is really fast set up and holds them really well. Hopefully the head business will continue to pick up and I can pay for it. Added a SuperFlow 600 with FlowCom data acquisition as well. That thing just won't lie. It is brutally honest . Sorry about the sideways picture, don't know how to fix that.

Stupid flow benches...... amazing though how many "improvements" you can make that do nothing or make it worse isn't it? I just chuckle when people tell me they ported their heads and gained a ton!, then add they did it without a flow bench when asked what a ton is. |

True, haven't lost any yet, but no huge gains yet either. I will say, Dino intake ports are not good at all. Not a lot of room to make up for the poor shape either. we shall see what we end up with. |

I was working on a 208 port, had gained 10-12% then touched, just touched a lump saw on the short side radius and lost 5% instantly. I fought and fought just to get back to where I was, never went up....I hate when that happens. But enough about silly little dinos.....started on the VW heads yet? |

I have intake valves, guides and seats, exhaust valves being made, they were out of stock. Not anything custom. I am planning on making a guide fit with less press so I can do some preliminary machine work and then get the guide out of the way for port work, then slip it in again for flow testing. Once I get it the way I want it, I'll press in the final guides and finish cut everything. I need to prefit everything so I can check spring travel and retainer to guide clearance and all that stuff. I am looking forward to the challenge. |
