Ok I have a plan. I'll roll it so I can drive the other gear to reverse the pumping direction. Time to cut and weld.

The oil pump rotates the same direction as the engine as it is driven, I believe, from the crank sprocket not the reverse direction idler sprocket (that just drives the cams).

The oil pump rotates in the same direction as the engine. It is driven directly off the crank. The idle sprocket only drives the cams.

Correct. I have no idea what I was thinking when I first mounted the pump but whatever it was it was wrong.

I mounted the oil return pump incorrectly and didn't realize it until I was doing the final assembly.....or not so final assembly as it turned out

....but I'll get it fixed.

I need to re-do the pump mounting so it will pump in the right direction :(

I don't know what I was thinking when I did this....I guess I was looking at the timing chain which turns opposite of the engine.

I'll tell you what it was, you where in some hot debate with some rich dude and you lost focus of the job.

I spent some time staring at piles of parts that I'm pretty sure mostly have no value....it sure makes it hard to find the parts that do have value.

I see another V12 in there - better not throw that out it will be needed in another thread!!
