I got a little time today and finished up the tips. I didn't show this on the 1st one but the welding took them out of round....so I beat them back. It seems to fit pretty, I'll put the mounts on next so it will stay put while I fit up the pipes to connect to the headers.
Very good work!

BTW: the 3 quarters pipe has also ovaled unless it is a photo distortion issue. With the other side this did not happen or has been resolved.

Best
Pete

Thanks and I think you're right on the other pipe. I noticed it about the time I had the system in place and ready to start the brackets and decide to fix the pipe after I track the mount and have to pull it out for full weld. It's always something.

Still mad the crazy expensive motec M150 has 2 lambda pins it can't use for lambda, you need to buy a CAN converter for $560/channel instead.......a buddy said he's got some time to help out so I just got a couple of the TRK-UBS-MPC5602P boards to make a couple prototype AN to CAN units. They'll have calibration lookup tables on all the AN so it can read any NB sensor or WB controller and replace 8-12 LTC units (depending what connector we find) or send any other AN signal in for the pins challenged M130. If it works I'll have some run off and through them on ebay for anyone else who needs it....it shouldn't be more than $100. Problem solved.

Now back to exhaust :)

I got nothing done in the shop this week :(

But I did find a guy who sells add-on for motec products and he agreed to make me a unit to convert my 2 WBO2 signals to work with the motec. He tested it yesterday and has it working....$300. My buddy is still working on the open source version for the $25 board, but a tested and working unit will be here is a week or so.

I FINALLY did a little work. I fixed the 1 out of round tip and welded on the muffler mounts. Looking at the pipes I think I want some more 3.5" bend and I'm out because I was thinking I was going to do it a different way but now I'm thinking that was a stupid idea so I need more 3.5" material. I'll order it Monday and maybe get started on the rear collector that needs the same kind of tapered bend I made for the front.

The engine in Lana's car self destructed Monday morning (timing chain tensioner failed which took out the valves and pistons) so yet another Ferrari night was canceled as is replacing my 180k mile daily driver:(

I've seen enough to know it will all work out in the end but are we risking being a scarecrow Dorothy?

A good friend of mine from Oz once told me "I love working on cars, but I hate fixing them!" Is this one of those situations?

Me, I can't be bothered to check the oil in the wife's Suburban, and it'll probably bite me one of these days :)

yeah.......the motec is still here and probably will be for at least a couple weeks while I play with the EngineLab setup and figureout the limits of the AEM hardware. So far it looks pretty good and I'm thinking it shouldn't be more than about a week and I'll have fuel and spark working to my satisfaction. stuff like DBW, idle control traction control will take a bit more time because I know less about them, but this is a very flexible setup so I'm not too worried
