I remember saying to Mark about 5yrs ago that I didn't have a tig welder so I had to cast stuff instead

Im pretty sure Mark has welded up this about 15 times faster than I'd have cast it!

Some more work done on the pedal box. I still may need to tune it up a little to get it to clear everything that goes around it but it's close now.

So pretty.

I test fit the pedal box last night and learned I'm going to need to move the support on the clutch side about 1" or move the heater control box. Easy enough to move the support over so that next on the list I guess.

Why did you have to wrap the pipe to build it up first? Trying to figure out why you couldn't just weld it in place?

Also, can you flip the assy over and post a pic showing the inside with the hardware on?

The pedals aren't done yet but here's a quick inside shot. The bosses on hold the pedal pivot shaft, then the tube on top is really just a cover for the pivot bosses on the pedals themselves. I should have the pedals done int eh next few days.

Who here believes I was going to leave the ugly support bosses on the pedal box????

I clipped the one corner to clear the heater controller and realize the ugliness...so I re-did the other side too. I also go the brake pedal done I think, it still needs a test fit though so....

This also means a much shorter pivot shaft...huge weight savings! I was ready to drill it too thinking shorter means strongeruntil I realized it was hardened

Mark - Did you lengthen the brake pedal by adding a small section in the middle? If so is there a concern with it cracking in the future because of the stress concentrations in the heat-affected zone and the multiplication of the force on the area caused by the pedal lengthening? You would find out about it at the worst possible time....

That is exactly what I did, but its just plain old steel so it welds good and Appears to have a nice big safety factor on the design so.....I think it's fine.
