None that I know of in the 80s or any other time. I meant a round 4 tip appearance is correct of the 80s. You have to be nearly straight behind to see the conjoined part so almost right but not quite..... "evil twin"

I've never thought about this stuff before. How many CFM will be flowing through the exhaust system?

At peak hp the intake flow is right around 1100cfm, so right around 550cfm per side, but remember that is an AVERAGE, instantaneous flow/velocity is different and the real limiting factor.

The exhaust pulses are strongest right around peak torque and hit .67 mach. The intake pulses are strongest at peak hp and hit .64 mach. These are pretty high numbers. The sim software manual is all 0.5-0.6 mach is best blah blah blah... but that seems to have a lot to do with port design as everything I've ever been involved with is over 0.6 and I know a buddies work tends to be closer to 0.7. To be down near 0.5 mach it would be a crap port design I think.

Are you referring to pre-combustion engine intake air (upstream of the cylinders) or the exhaust gas taken-in by the exhaust system? I am just confused because of how combustion causes a substantial increase in gas volume compared to intake and was wondering how many CFM of gas actually will pass out the exhaust pipes.

I'm referring to sCFM = CFM at 68F and 14.7psia which is a convient reference point. I would have to manually calculate what actual cfm is in the exhaust pipe...that just not used because it's mach number that matters most in the end.

Still mad the crazy expensive motec M150 has 2 lambda pins it can't use for lambda, you need to buy a CAN converter for $560/channel instead.......a buddy said he's got some time to help out so I just got a couple of the TRK-UBS-MPC5602P boards to make a couple prototype AN to CAN units. They'll have calibration lookup tables on all the AN so it can read any NB sensor or WB controller and replace 8-12 LTC units (depending what connector we find) or send any other AN signal in for the pins challenged M130. If it works I'll have some run off and through them on ebay for anyone else who needs it....it shouldn't be more than $100. Problem solved.

Now back to exhaust

Not as far as I hoped to get, but progress. I had a couple cones I bought for the collectors but couldn't use because the transitions fell on bends, but cones fit the tips well. I gave it a quick buffer just to see....I like it.
