Beautiful work as usual Mark.
But still can't wrap my head around how are you going to transfer all that power between the tires and the ground. I was just watching ''supercar fails'' videos about guys giving a bit of gas to these powerful engines and spinning them into oblivion (ditch) and a lot of them from straight line! Unless you put on 5 feet wide tires or have badass traction control (I think you did mention that) better have good airbags! (next 308 mod!!!) Anyhow, really looking forward to the firing up of this thing.

There are a LOT of bad drivers in the world...when something goes wrong people tend to freeze and then bad things happen.

I will have traction control. The sensors are installed and I've been building the ECU model to accommodate it but haven't yet written the actual traction code. This engine makes a lot more hp than my last engine because it spins faster but really doesn't have much more torque and I've changed the drop gear ratio so it should come out right about where the last engine was wheel spin wise.....but its still getting traction control.

Forgot to post this yesterday, the alternator are a bit sad looking so it got a quick clean up.

made the adapter for the oil pressure and got that installed

Made and installed the water pipe on the front of the engine.

I realized I'd forgotten a water line, but a quick T and a fitting size change and all's right with the world again.

I also made up most of the oil lines....but I' waiting on fitting to wrap it up.

I ordered wire, connectors and such so wiring will begin in a couple weeks and then just looked over my project plan to see where I am.

The good news is it only shows $100 of stuff left to buy before this puppy runs. Reality is it will be more like $500 with stupid little things everywhere, but the official list is down to just fuel hose and fittings.

The bad news is it's take me about 22 hours of work to move the remaining work from 40 down to 30 hours so I've underestimated the time these smaller tasks take, but still on track to at least try to start it by Christmas.

I got a call from the wire people (prowire) last night..."I'm packing your order and it will go out today but a couple of the colors you asked for are out of stock so I subsisted similar and wanted to make sure that'sand another color you ordered 50' but I've only got 25" in stock so I includes the for free is this OK?"

Its so nice to deal with people who understand the goal is to complete the project and help you rather than just back-ordering stuff. Wire should be here in a couple days.

Everything sounds and looks good Mark.

I'm assuming the motor is in for good now?

I got a little time to work today and the front bank headers are now installed. I'm not sure sure what the engineer who designed those headers was thinking but it sure has about making it easy to reach the bolts! But they're on now. I can't do the rear heads until I get the replacement alternator wire and can't finish the oil lines until more fitting arrive but I can finish up the cooling lines and I guess move on to mounting the TBs to the manifolds but need wire before I can install the manifolds. A lot of balls in the air right now.

A lot of bouncing around today.

I got the last of the water lines installed. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the heater stuff up front so I'll just plug it for now.

I started mounting the TBs to the intake and decided I should paint the linkage....I went with gold which from a distance kind or sort looks like yellow zinc plating like I really should have done. I got 1 bank mounted and its sticking a bit which made it obvious that I can't easily move the linkage to the passenger side as I planned because it makes the linkage wind up against the springs and not open evenly.

I started the second bank and realized I don't have enough bolts just as the UPS man brought me the oil fittings I needed so I moved on to oil lines. One fitting needed about a 20 degree twist to fit...and I had to remove the alternator to tighten it :x . Another one need to be cut and a 1" section added.....and everything needed to be tightened in the right order because it looks like the ding-dong project engineer was trying to set a world record for the most lines and fittings in the least space. But the oil lines are finished, the alternator back in and I think its ready to fill with oil and see if it pumps where it's supposed to pump.

The wire came today too so once I get bolts I should be able to install the intakes.

I felt awful the last few days.....well enough to wonder into the shop today.

I filled the oil tank and the pressure pump pick it up and I got oil pressure pretty quickly....and a leak from the front cover but retorquing seems to have solved the problem, the gasket relaxed with time I guess.

The return pump was not so happy to pump, but I feed some oil into it and it pumped fine, so I hooked the hoses back up and it works fine now.

The system officially holds 12 quarts it looks like. I'm going to run at 11 I think so I know the oils well away from air separation part of the tank.

I also lower the fill cap hoping it will now clear the hood, positioned it so the ears won't hit the fittings and re-cut the center hole in the air separators thinking I can attach a dipstick to the fill cap now that there's a hole in the middle.

The new alternator cable came.....but they made it 45" instead of the 55" I ordered so it's not much use :( Hopefully they can replace it quickly.

I just got a notice that they shipped the replacement...couldn't ask for a better response.
