Not to bring up a sore subject, but are you gonna pressure test that head by itself on the bench or wait 'till you get it back on the block, torqued, and test the whole thing?

John, of course Marks gonna test it after he gets the head back on the block, torqued down, intakes on, tbi installed and linkage adjusted. How else are we going to be entertained??

Well ti is back on the block, torqued down and cams installed and timed........

Before doing all that I did do a quick leak test...and it failed. While welding the one hole I opened another...stupid porosity. after I welded that and all seemed weld...I think it's good to go..

I don't believe I do have any mk e parts on her.

But he was kind enough to send me a couple of small metric studs that I had striped. He's da Man!

Last night I tensioned the timing chain, reinstalled the alternator, re-torqued the head, reinstalled cam cover.

Remaining:
install coolant manifold
install intake manifold
install the headers.

4-6 hours I guess and I'm back where I was and ready for attempt 2.

Yay!

What's attempt 2 again? Is that the antifreeze part?
