In a lot of ways this thing is pretty easy to work on and at this point I know exactly where the bolts are and what tools to use so it goes pretty quickly. The real issue is my motivation level which is a tad low at the moment, but beer helps and it should improve as I move from disassemble and repair to reassembly in a few weeks.

Dario drifting a 488 thru a tunnel? Might not have been Dario, maybe F1 pilote, crazy speed .I prefer Gemelocattivo over Dos Equis, you are the worlds most interesting Man! Forza,,ps ,,just have Jr make my parts and bill me @ full rate.

That's why I split it out...ECU programming is an acquired taste ;)

As are bent valves. Not sure what I did exactly but the exhaust valves in the rear head are scrap. :x

On the front head when I did a leak down I found a mix of leaking intakes and exhausts :? Again not sure what I did...probably my decision to install the head with the cams in place. No doubt that is why the compression test was a bit low and possibly why popping back going on. Next shop night I'll get that head off and see if there's any saving the valves before I place the order for the front head parts.

I got all the gaskets include replacements for the custom head gaskets on order last week so that's rolling.

Stupidity is a double edge sword....without it I wouldn't do projects like this but with it it's really hard to finish projects like this

Tuesday or Thursday I'll have a full assessment of what parts I need so I can get them ordered so they are here when I'm done hunting for leaks and I can get straight to reassembly.

I need to get all the weirdness sorted out while it's on the bench....like why the hell when I first assembled it the engine would turn backwards but not frontwards and why when I pulled it all apart and reassembled it would turn frontwards and not backwards? That makes no sense to me but after fighting with it for 12 hours last time and given the engine was tuning frontwards I just moved on......which of course meant I couldn't back up when the engine didn't feel quite right the other day. I'm about 3/4 tempted to see if I can re-work the timing cover to eliminate the assembly method stupidity the cover forces.....maybe 90% tempted.
