Ok, I'm tired.

The oil system is ready to prime
The exhaust installed, the rear went together fine and this time I was smart enough to where a long sleeve shirt and gloves handling it.
The fuel system connected and pressure tested good.

Tomorrow that leaves
Coolant hoses....an hour maybe
wires - another hour
hopefully find the shift gate adjust the linkage and install the trans pan...or just install the trans pan and get on with it. maybe 1.5 hour
Edit - bleed the clutch
Test fire after lunch? Hopefully.

Hi,

New user here. My son pointed me to the GRM thread, and at some point several months ago, I stumbled across this one. Glad to se you are continuing to document this build. We have a mutual friend, it turns out. (Remember the oil pan project? He started it using my mill! Also, he has my old 13" lathe.) I like to make things but the two of you have fabrication skills far, far above my own. Tried to PM you but I suppose I'm not allowed to until I've made some number of posts greater than zero...so here's one.

John

Welcome....ahh...the oil pan from hell :o

Yes, its hard to keep the trolls out but requiring a real post before you're free seems to work really well. You should be all set now.

Speaking of oil I decided to fill an prime the oil system this morning so after cranking I could get the battery recharged for later...no oil pressure WTF?

inspect everything....I know its pumping cuz this fitting is leaking a little, tighten the fitting, crank a bit more....fitting still leaks a little but no pressure.

Plug in the computer and everything looks fine with the pressure sensor .

Disconnect the leaking fitting figuring I can see if oil is flowing and also see if there is anything wrong with the sealing surface....DOH! Clearly my head was not completely in the gam yesterday

Remove the paper towel and the fitting seals fine and there is 85psi cranking with the plugs out.

Running pretty far behind schedule for the day....I may not make it.

Coolant is in and just like last time the system appears to define gravity. The level in the tank is at least 4" above the opened bleeder fitting and nothing comes out. I even tried a little pressure in the tank but nothing comes out the vent. Weird but on to wires

Everything took longer than I hoped but it runs again

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZdknPkKRwE

A lot of smoke off the freshly wrapped and painted headers but other than that no white smoke. I pulled plugs 1-3 and they all look the same...pig rich for whatever reason, I'll look though the log tonight and tomorrow have a look at the rest of the plugs. The floor is still dry for the moment so fingers crossed both the leaking head gaskets and oil leak are fixed.

Looking at the log I see an engine temp of -20C....which probably means I forgot to plug in the coolant temp sensor so the ECU was adding 60% more fuel. I don't see anything else wrong so far. Tomorrow its going to be pretty cold out son next run maybe not until Tuesday and I will continue through the log and make sure anything that looks wrong is sorted.
