I'm really curious to see how it goes with getting the EL ECU fixed, and if you gain insight about their sustainability going forward...

Short update. I did find a place that says they can probably repair my ecu so that remains an option but is plan B.

Plan a is I've agreed to be a beta tester for these guys https://shitboxparts.com/ because I think what they are trying to do sounds awesome....an ECU that will do a V12 with I/O to spare for under $500. Aphla unit is running a car, beta build being laid out now and should be in my hands and a few others in a month or 2. Its using the rusefi open software but they are open to cleaning it up and are looking for suggestions and feedback for improvements so it should get more friendly.

Plan C is back to shopping

That means I really do need to get on with wheel wells and oil leak work.

Very interesting!

Maybe you can get them to incorporate something like the MultiMAP - or better yet the QuadraMAP which also outputs a signal that can be used for cam phase?

Generally you don't want to run any vacuum hoses to the ecu much less 12 so keeping that separate probably makes the most sense. It does have a timed MAP reading so in theory ITBs can just connect MAP to 1 cylinder and have functioning MAP but I've never played with that before, I probably will though since its there and there is no way to turn it off :)

The cam phase via MAP for ITB.....that would be added code for sure. Maybe a stand-alone item? I can ask.

If I could buy a standalone MAP solution from the same source as the ECU (and validated to work with it), then that would be a big pro for me. I'm thinking of something that takes inputs of:
  1. 6 ITBs

And has the outputs:
  1. A single consolidated MAP signal
  2. A cam phase signal
  3. CAN values for the individual sensors

We will have buckets of AN pins so the analog reading of 7 (or13)MAP signals is no problem other than wiring it.

But I can talk to the HW guy and see what might make sense to do

And for when too much is just about right.....oh yes there is staged injection even on 12 cylinder engines.  Way back I really wanted this but only the uber expensive motec M190 could do it.....now it's going into the $500 ECU and it will still have outputs left for other needs. This is going to be EPIC :)

And 32x32 main tables just replaced the 16x16.....its so nice to have requests heard.  Next up is make them dynamic so the user can resize them as needed hopefully because while I'd rather have too much than too little its really nice to have right size tables.

I'm kind of running out of things to even ask for.

I'm being told the ECU itself had this ability built in. I've not stumble across it yet( the UI is pretty confusing) but will let you know when I do....

That's really interesting. If you had the analog MAP inputs per cylinder, in principle you could handle the rest in code. If I'm interesting in contributing to that, would it be via the rusEFI project?
