hmmm...maybe...it's not as close as it might look.

What I did forget is a crankcase breather..... it'll be sealed up tight on the path I've been. I forgot all about this. The breather fittings on the TR cam covers where in a bad place and I removed them but never added new one

Uh Oh !!! :?

I know! Mostly I just need to pick a spot, preferably I something that I haven't installed yet. The 308 had a little oil separator drain thing that drained into the crankcase but the connector was on the engine block IIRC and no longer have that either.

My thought at the moment is just add something to the cam end covers on which ever side fits better...probably the front. Those covers are o-ringed so they pop right off. Then I can vent into the air inlet of oil tank and then tack to inlet I suppose. If this is the worst problem I have I'm in pretty good shape :)

Do you need a breather or PCV with the dry sump system?

Can the dry sump pump pull crank case pressure down below ambient and help out your BMEP a little bit?

i was wondering the same thing. I know with a real race drysump it would pull a vacuum in the case but I'm not so sure about the 2stage factory system which most class as "remote sump" vs true dry sump.

I need to do a little more research I think.

I got the tank and mounts painted last night so they could go on this morning.

I have tried a different way of strapping the engine every time I lift it I think....but I think this is the winner, just a couple nylon ratchet straps. It's simple and doesn't dig anything up.

I took a lot of pics trying to show what I was looking at...but pictures just don't really show very well just how frikin tight a fit this thing is dropping in. I had to remove and oil fitting and the front mounts (I suspected the oil return pump would be a problem and left it off when I was messing with the timing chain and trying to figureout why the engine wasn't turning)

It just looks ridiculous hanging over the car and when I get the angles just right I have at least a full 1/4" maybe 3/8" of space to spare....easy right? :)

And it's in....and there has to be a solid 1/6" clearance between the flywhy cover and the frame!

....I'm probably going to have to fix that :o

I spent some time staring at stuff pondering.

I had planned to use QV air filter housings to keep a stock look and they fit fine but then the space is gone and I still need a coolant tank and oil tank in there somewhere. Another option is just go straight over toward the side vents and stuff a couple K&N filters in there somehow.

I'm also pondering just chopping and installing the ducati velocity stacks to get the engine running....they work out to 11" track length and I want about 12.5 but.....I have them.

A lot to think about.

Awesome.

Why would it be easier to get it running with the Ducati stacks as opposed to what you have built with some kind of air filter?

Excellent
That is so tight ,that I am almost convinced you used vaseline to get it to fit.

Man oh man that engine is huge! Funny once you get in there, it just disappears.

I got to congratulate you Mark on doing this on your own. I know it's a task to drop a 308 motor but your dropping a v12 engine all by your self. I tip my pizza cap to you.
